I always dreamed of being the curator, creator and tour director of my own fresh air contemporary museum without walls. So in 1984 I started building outdoor abstract steel sculptures and cutting paths. At the present time I have 429 works of art located on 40 acres of interconnecting manicured trails. I am not bragging or boasting (just stating reality) but I have created the largest contemporary sculpture garden on the planet, which I show to my community admission free. All of my works are on the David Smith genre. For the last five years, I have been creating theme sculptures. I use historical figures that had ordinary lives, but did extraordinary things, so touring my garden is like taking a patriotic pilgrimage. I have used the term Arborism to describe my latest creations for they are all suspended or bolted to hundred-year-old hemlock trees. I plan on creating sculptures until I have a five hundred-piece sculpture garden.
